Our 45th Reunion

The weekend began on Friday, September 27th at Saks in Highland Park where Kay was showing her fall line and Janie, Joyce, Carol Korff and Peggy were there to see her (and maybe buy a dress for a wedding, Janie???)
The Party moved on to Peggy's on Friday night where Linda, Margy and Rudi joined in. Vicki almost made it, as did Randee.

Before the Obama/McCain debate...
We were so glad to have Joyce added to the group from the 40th, but missed Vicki, Randee, Patti, Berta, Panna and Nancy. Here's hoping we can all make it to the 50th!!!

After the debate the 50th reunion guys came home with Jimmy. The Swartchild's had a full house that weekend!!
We stayed up talking until after 2 am, having a mini version of what went on when there were 12 of us there in 2003. Good thing we were only 7 this time or we'd have been up all night!

Here we are from the 40th in 2003 (also taken at Peggy's house and only missing Joyce) ...
and earlier that weekend at Nancy's (minus Peggy who was having a grandson and Rudi who was taking the photo...)

The formal 45th reunion was on Saturday, September 28th, 2008. Janie, Kay and Peggy came together. Here they are all dolled up and ready to go. Rudi met them there with her husband Al who was very glad to see Peggy and Kay and to meet Janie.

The group at the Saturday dinner was small, but very friendly. To quote Peggy:
I thought that Saturday Night at the Doubletree was bleak in location but actually very much fun . It was a tiny gathering of only about 50 people! The good part about the small group was that people actually mixed and you could talk to everyone.

At this point in our lives it really is fun to see where people are living both physically and mentally and how they got there.

There were some really tough stories and some really sweet stories, all were interesting.

Shelia Bernstein sang and played the keyboard with an original song for our 45th. She was great fun and ate at our table. Gale Bailey was in from Berkley and was a hoot and loves being single. Rick Paul artist, teacher, and set designer had stories of Hollywood and Chicago Theater….he has no cell phone or voice mail ( a little fact I picked up)

Some other people that I talked to or at least knew were Randi Alexander, Chuck Bernstein, Don Behm, Joan Barnett, Alan Miller, Bob Jacobson, Al Ovson, Rich Thorsen, Alan Stern, Richard Schneider, Lydia Patera, Lauren ? etc

I also had an outstanding dinner partner…Al Bennett…..Rudi’s husband…what a great chance to get to know each other a little bit. I of course loved watching Kay, Jane, Rudi, and Linda work the room with me…..next time Margy and Joyce must help us.
Here's who was there...
...see how many you recognize besides Peggy, Kay, Janie and Rudi! (Click on the photo and you'll see it enlarged.) Some people Peggy mentioned arrived after dinner and aren't in the photo (e.g. Betsy Cohen and Gale Bailey).

Please add your own posts. This is a way we can all share photos and updates from time to time and have them "safe" in one spot to revisit occasionally. I don't know about you, but I keep losing the notes I want to view!! The only hitch to posting is that you may need to create a gmail account for yourself so you can login and blog. The account is free and you don't need to use it for e-mail, so there's not much involved. I'll send you all invitations to join the blog and hope you'll all post an update sometime soon. Vicki, wish you'd been with us to do the video, but this will have to do until next time!!!
